Teaching Plan

Writer: Mary Gwyneth FelizardoMary Gwyneth Felizardo

Upon doing my teaching plan, I also got to know their curriculum in school or, rather, in Thailand education; it was focused on the Thai Language, English, Mathematics, Science, Life Experience, and Art. However, while doing my lesson plan, I was able to mainly teach Science subject. With this, I’ve had some realizations, particularly about the importance of creating a well-structured lesson plan. A good lesson plan is crucial because it ensures that daily activities in the classroom effectively facilitate students' progress toward the specific goals outlined in their sequence of activities.

Furthermore, it is essential to remain mindful of the objectives, concepts, and content of the activity since these should serve as the foundation for developing every task in the classroom. It was challenging at first because I needed to develop topics aligned with the week's theme and ensure they were developmentally appropriate for the children's cognitive levels. Additionally, I had to create engaging activities and devise effective teaching strategies to facilitate their learning.

Since I was assigned to a general education classroom despite my major in special needs education, I effectively applied my knowledge by providing necessary adaptations for students requiring support. I accommodated and modified various learning activities, recognizing that not all learners learn the same way. Ultimately, my goal is to adapt to each student's individual needs.
